Today, we can successfully apply Invisalign treatment in many cases. However, in order to determine whether the case is suitable for this treatment, it should be examined by an orthodontist with an Invisalign certificate.

Could you briefly describe the stages of invisalign treatment?

In the first session, our patient’s routine treatment records such as x-rays, measurements and photographs are taken and these materials are sent to Align Teknoloji. By scanning the dimensions of our patient, 3D models are obtained and patient-specific treatment planning is made on these models. According to the treatment planning we have made, the necessary tooth movements are carried out step by step, and plaques suitable for these stages are produced and sent to us. These processes take about 6-7 weeks.

What is the difference from orthodontic treatments with wire?

Their biggest advantage is that they are purely aesthetic and very comfortable for patient use. Being removable and attachable provides great convenience in terms of cleaning. It is much easier for patients to adapt than with brackets. There are no problems such as cheek and lip injuries seen in brackets. They do not cause any difficulties in speaking. They provide an advantage because the appointment intervals can be kept wide in patients who have difficulty in coming for frequent check-ups.

Does Invisalign treatment have any known damage to teeth or gums?

Invisalign treatment does not cause any harm to the teeth or gums. Because low forces are applied on each plate to achieve approximately 0.25 mm tooth movement. In addition, the borders of the plaques end in a way that does not damage the gums.
